Group O Works with Samsung on Iconic Product Launch.
Situation
Samsung launches new phones twice a year and needs to prepare them for release in a secure environment and then deliver the devices to thousands of retail stores all on the same day.
Action
Group O started its relationship with Samsung by providing the packaging for each of the new devices, and because of that success, Samsung asked Group O what else we could do to support new device launches. Group O’s flashing and testing services were an easy fit. Each display device is flashed and tested before delivery. Group O also manages printed materials and displays for the launch in addition to creating kits for each store based on planogram, size, and owner.
As Group O receives the new devices before anyone else -- security is of the utmost importance. No one goes into our facility without going through a metal detector and logging their IMEI with our security team. Security guards walk the floor at all times, watching inventory and kitting lines. Only certain employees are allowed to have devices inside the building. All materials and devices are kept under lock and key with limited access.
Results
Group O now supports all of Samsung’s product launches by flashing and packaging hundreds of thousands of phones each year, along with thousands of custom displays.
