Three years ago, PepsiCo was not satisfied with their stretch wrap process and engaged Group O to improve their plant operations. We rolled up our sleeves and got right to work.
We audited, analyzed and optimized their nationwide plant network, comprising over 400 facilities. Through gauge reduction, total wrap count reduction, and equipment calibration, upgrades and modifications, we reduced their cost of operations by approximately half a million dollars in the first year.
The environmental savings were significant. Our SMART Audit program reduced 223,251 lbs of resin usage which is equal to 364 barrels of oil and 156 metric tons of CO2 emissions. That’s 34 cars not being driven for a year. That’s sustainable; that’s SMART.
